Strategic imperatives for your local supply chain

Local supply chain pressures · What Enten offers you

Local supply chain challenges

  • Constant pressure from authorities and consumersfor local, healthy products at competitive in-season prices, with a high level of traceability.
  • Resilience and control of the short supply chainwith no surprises in fresh fruit and vegetable categories.
  • Operating costsincreasingly hard to justify when you manage a local network of fresh produce suppliers.
  • Sustainability agendacarbon reduction commitments or regulations, impact estimates and reduction targets, compliance reporting (CSRD, CSDD) and sustainability claims that avoid the risk of greenwashing.

What Enten offers you

  • Full seed-to-shelf traceabilitybuilt on real field data, not estimates. We capture the digital footprint of an agricultural product, from the polytunnel or field all the way to the warehouse.
  • Predictability right through to harvestcalendar, estimated volumes, agricultural risks
  • Dedicated modules for working with supplier farmersa significant reduction in the cost of managing produce procurement
  • Environmental footprint based on real datanot just on generic emission factors from databases that bear no relation to your local suppliers’ growing conditions
Tangible added value

We help you improve operational efficiency.

01
Short supply chain, full visibility

See how your local supplier’s crops are developing, whenever you need to.

Harvest calendar, estimated volumes, agricultural risks. Before the farmer calls with bad news or never turns up at the warehouse at all.

02
Digital procurement

Planning, quotes, orders and deliveries — everything you need, standardised and centralised in a single portal, one click away.

Direct API integration with your ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc.). Fewer emails, fewer spreadsheets, fewer mistakes.

03
Logistics optimisation

Lower transport and handling costs across procurement.

Algorithms that reduce the share of multi-drop deliveries in daily orders or maximise vehicle loads. Measurable benefits: lower costs and a smaller carbon footprint.

04
Sustainability reporting based on relevant data

An environmental footprint based on the varied reality in the field.

Emissions estimates by contributing factor (agriculture, packaging, transport), a plan to reduce your environmental footprint, and a calculation of the impact — water savings, optimised fertilisation, fewer treatments, more efficient transport.

The data that makes the difference in sustainability reporting

A bottom-up approach, not just top-down. For a meaningful environmental footprint estimate that reduces the risk of greenwashing.

A top-down environmental footprint estimate, using carbon emission factors from a general database (e.g. Big Climate Database), is enough for generic claims, but it will not stand up to an audit, especially if you want to report real reductions. These factors are built for a handful of developed countries, reflect specific production conditions and inputs, and are updated often — historical comparisons become impossible, estimates are arbitrary, no coherent emissions reduction plan can be drawn up, and linking an environmental impact to your concrete actions is difficult at best.

Enten adds a bottom-up data layer to analysis and reporting: data actually collected from the sensor-equipped farms in your local supply network. This lets us estimate, with high accuracy, each farmer’s environmental impact across the contributing factors: agriculture (seeds, water, fertilisers, plant protection products, elements of the growing space — plastic film, structural materials, irrigation systems), packaging (materials and quantities used) and transport (vehicles used, load factor, fuel consumption and actual routes). We can also help draw up an emissions reduction plan for these components, estimate the results of putting it into practice and attribute its impact to the contributing factors (e.g. water saved, optimised fertilisation, eco-friendly packaging, higher load factors and optimised transport routes). That way, you can see the real effect of informed decisions.
